Partnership agreement with TESIS PLMware
April 2009
Perspectix AG and TESIS PLMware GmbH have agreed on a technology partnership in order to combine their experience in the integration of different ERP and PLM software solutions and to provide customers with an integrated information flow along their process chains.
In a first project, they have developed a common interface based on Teamcenter Gateway for SAP from TESIS PLMware and P'X5 from Perspectix: the interface ensures a seamless flow of information from technical and logistical data between Teamcenter and the configuration software from Perspectix.

Engineering Software MTpro of Rexroth with P’X5 Configurator

Rexroth provides to their customers and solution partners an integrated engineering software that seamlessly supports configuration of parts and assemblies, layout planning of complex plants, BOM generation, and calculation of offers. The product configuration and layout planning in 3D is based on the Perspectix P’X5 software technology. The interaction concept of P’X5 enables even users without CAD experience to layout assembly systems composed of Rexroth components. The P’X5 Configurator supports the user with logic on the Rexroth products and eliminates routine work with knowledge-driven automation.
Rexroth is presenting their engineering software with the integrated 3D plant configurator of Perspectix for the first time at the International Trade Fair for Assembly und Handling Systems MOTEK from September 22-25, 2008 in Stuttgart/Germany.

P'X5 Configurator for SIMATIC Automation Designer

The Siemens division 'Automation Industry' provides with 'SIMATIC Automation Designer' a digital engineering software for automation technology. Perspectix has now realized a P'X5 Configurator extension package for the "SIMATIC Automation Designer". The P'X5 add-on enables the 3D layouting of machines and plants with their sensors and actors in the user interface of SIMATIC Automation Designer. The 3D product configurations are automatically reflected as project resources in SIMATIC Automation Designer. Due to this tight integration users are faster in turning planning concepts into validated automation solutions.
SIMATIC Automation Designer with the P'X5 extension will be demonstrated the first time at the Hannover Fair HMI 2008 at the Siemens booth A72 in Hall 9.

Bosch Rexroth chooses the Perspectix P'X5 Configurator

In 2006/07 Bosch Rexroth Mechatronics GmbH addressed the renewal of its planning tools for assembly and material handling technologies. For the configuration of facilities in 3D an "Assembly Modeller" as an integrated solution module for the Bosch Rexroth project planning environment needed to be evaluated.
The requirements for an appropriate software were defined internally. After a detailed evaluation of various vendors and solutions, Bosch Rexroth chose Perspectix P'X5.
An initial implementation of the P'X5 Configurator for internal use has already been rolled out. The internal project team is now implementing additional product lines, and in 2008 will develop a public version for partners and customers.

Optimus is establishinig a new standard of care in the "OR" environment: Safety, Sterility, Simplicity.
Operating room (OR) design has not changed in over 65 years. The core configuration was developed in World War II, though a modern OR has to accommodate far more complex equipment and technology. There have been incremental improvements, but problems with safety, sterility and complexity persist.
Optimus has reengineered the OR from the ground up, using multiple advanced technologies. The result is a dramatically cleaner, simpler space for improved safety and performance.
For the distribution of its innovative solutions Optimus ISE is establishing an application which will serve as a 3D marketing & sales tool. Distributors are in particular planning partners within the health care market - first in the US, then expanded to Europe and Asia.
The P’X5™ application includes the following functionalities:
- 3D configurator with drag & drop and point & click interaction
- Hierarchical eCatalog of product elements
- Planning of piping and wiring elements

The functional scope will allow to configure Optimus’ products in 3D within a 2D architectural environment.

Using JT and PLM XML, Perspectix expands 3-D and Product Life-Cycle Management information into technical sales by providing 3D product catalogue, configuration, and calculation tools.

PLM World Case Study: JT-BASED 3D SALES CONFIGURATOR at SIEMENS
Siements Automation & Drives, Electronic Assembly Systems have identified a need for a new software tool to enable their global sales teams to effectively produce a quotation from a customer's individual requirements. It has been recognized that the existing process has many shortcomings and rely mainly on the experience of the sales representative to configure the most appropriate solution.
The requirements for a "Sales Calculation and Configuration Software Tool for Siplace Products" was internally elaborated. After an evaluation of different vendors of product configurators, Siemens decided to implement their sales engineering tool based on P’X5™ from the UGS partner Perspectix.
P’X5™ reuses the geometric CAD data via the JT visualization format and adds configuration and calculation logic to the JT objects. While being JTopen member, the decision for the
P’X5™ configurator was a perfect fit for Siemens.
The case study will present the benefits that were achieved and best practices learned during the project. Topics will include:
- Product modularization and classification for sales engineering

A close Foundation Partnership agreement with UGS, signed in March 2006, Perspectix fosters the seamless integration with the products and solutions of the leading provider of software and services for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
The co-operation extends the digital value chain from product innovation into the processes of product marketing, sales, project engineering, and installed base management for after-sales services.
