Parametric system configuration
As a Configure-Price-Quote-Engineering CPQE solution, the P'X Industry Solution from Perspectix contains a particularly powerful 3D product configurator. It masters complex configuration rules, technical calculations and links back to CAD models, which simplify the design process. The solution has now been extended: distributed teams can use it to create virtual plants from parameterized components in large halls.
Turnkey plants are often planned by several teams using CAD, CAE, ECAD and ERP systems: The lack of coherence makes coordination difficult, triggers many change loops and extends project times. The specialists' planning capacity is limited. With high demand and available components, the planning process even slows down company growth. Anyone who develops modular systems for painting, finishing, assembly or logistics, builds distribution centers, filling stations or washing systems can now save up to 50 percent of the planning effort.
Computer Aided Planning
With the P'X Industry Solution extended to Computer Aided Planning (CAP), complex systems can be configured in hall-sized dimensions. In the context of 3D building data, collision-free systems can be created on any number of storeys, layers or levels. The system components, which can be configured with over 100 parameters and constraints, are placed in the IFC format of Building Information Modeling (BIM) using drag and drop. Functional units can be linked associatively and checked in the event of changes. When planning in one building section, users recognize all effects on other areas. External objects such as machines, packaging machines, carton presses or palletizers can be integrated as required, with all connections and lines being taken into account.
The objects and areas of a system configuration can be locked or released for editing as required. This makes it easy for large development teams to work together on a model.
The basic prerequisite for individual solutions for system configuration based on the P'X Industry Solution are product catalogs that are developed together with the customer from CAD models. Product logic and parametrics are mapped in sets of rules that guarantee fast and error-free product variants. All documents such as quotations, parts lists, 3D illustrations, assembly and installation instructions can be customized and output automatically. As a result, the entire process from recording customer requirements, configuration, pricing and quotation preparation to automated variant design, installation planning and spare parts management is digitized. The P'X Industry Solution can be integrated into existing ERP, PDM and CAD systems.
