For ten years, a manufacturer has been configuring its modular system of play equipment for the global market with the P'X Industry Solution from Perspectix. Different price and quality classes, safety levels and material types result in thousands of possible variations. In coordination with the sales force, a planning department configures individual solutions according to customer requirements. The P'X Industry Solution offers 3D product catalogs, maps a comprehensive set of rules for installation options and safety regulations and allows configuration via "drag and drop" on the base area. Finally, comprehensive quotations are issued with parts lists, installation plans, 3D views, material, assembly and follow-up costs.

Closer to the customer

The manufacturer wanted to bring this modular system closer to its customers in order to meet customer requirements even better and to further improve cooperation between the sales force and dealers with architects, garden and landscape planners and public institutions. After extensive research, the decision was made in favor of the new P'X web configurator, which enables user-friendly configuration on the Internet using the existing data. The implementation phase began in October 2023. Perspectix supplemented the solution with an authorization concept that provides users with graduated functionalities to ensure maximum product security. Further requirements were implemented internally.

The test phase began just three months after the start of the project. Now the retailers are being equipped with it step by step. "The first users are delighted," says André Kälin, CEO of Perspectix AG. "Thanks to the simple user guidance, they quickly recognize the in-depth variation options offered by the products."

Finished configurations can be printed out with prices and all information, saved and sent to the planning department. After an internal safety check, the quotation documents are created. If an order is placed, the configuration files automatically control the design in the 3D CAD system through associative links. This efficient solution brings customer requests directly into production in the fastest possible way. In future, the web configurator will be available to all customer groups.
