Artificial intelligence and open interfaces are paving the way for new approaches to implementing CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) systems. With Open4AI, Perspectix is pursuing an open AI strategy that allows users to choose the solutions that best suit their needs. 

Perspectix AG is expanding its P'X Industry Solution with new capabilities for AI-powered development and maintenance. In the future, developers will be able to describe complex product logic in natural language and convert it into executable program code using generative AI. 

Reduce knowledge transfer and development effort.

Mapping modular product portfolios—including their components, variants, and technical specifications—requires a significant transfer of knowledge. This is compounded by the integration of 3D models, the definition of bill of materials and documents, and the integration with existing business processes. Developing a customized CPQ solution is a large-scale project that requires extensive expertise and coordination.

This is where Perspectix comes in with two new tools: the VCML Knowledge Service provides AI assistants with specialized development knowledge for the P’X Industry Solution. It supports the creation of program code and checks it for compatibility with the version in use. Customer-specific AI assistants are connected to the Knowledge Service via the open Model Context Protocol (MCP).

A new Authoring Workbench for Visual Studio Code enables developers to work on the same project files alongside their own AI assistants. This can reduce programming effort and help identify errors earlier.

Less effort required for ongoing maintenance

Practical experience also demonstrates what is possible with AI support when it comes to maintaining existing applications. Flier Systems, for example, offers approximately 350 customized machines and systems for the greenhouse sector each year. This is based on a portfolio of about 300 products in the P’X Industry Solution. The company maintains the configuration data independently with the support of Claude AI. “We don’t quite need the capacity of a full-time position to maintain and update all our products,” reports Jan Verheul, ICT Manager at Flier Systems.

Perspectix's new development tools are designed to systematically support such AI-driven workflows in the future. Existing projects can continue without the need for migration.

Open4AI: Open to the Client's AI Strategy

With Open4AI, Perspectix is consolidating its strategy for integrating generative AI into its two solutions: the P´X Industry Solution and the P´X Retail Solution. The company had previously introduced AI-powered capture of customer requirements for rule-based product configuration. Now, AI is also being incorporated into development and maintenance.
