Sales digitization completed
In just three years, the family business Hauser in Linz (Austria) was able to complete the P'X Industry Solution from Perspectix as a Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) solution in conjunction with SAP S/4HANA. The sales processes for individual refrigeration systems and appliances for trade, commerce and industry are now fully digitalized.
Founded in Linz in 1946, Hauser is a family business with around 1,300 employees in 15 countries and an annual turnover of 390 million euros. Hundreds of grocery stores, commercial enterprises such as dairies and industrial areas are individually equipped with refrigerated counters, refrigerated and deep-freeze islands, shelves, display cases and counters as well as cold rooms in storage areas. "Almost every branch is an overall project in which a combined system supplies all the properties with refrigeration," explains IT project manager Gabriele Marsoun. Third-party products and existing refrigeration units are integrated, and the lines are configured and planned. Finally, Hauser defines the electrical distribution, room air conditioning and heat recovery for the entire store. The new CPQ system takes configuration, calculation, piping, transportation and installation into account. "All of these processes are interlinked and therefore need to be mapped in one solution," explains Gabriele Marsoun.
Multi-year system integration project
The international implementation project began inspring 2022. With around 50 employees in the team, from Germany as well as the Czech Republic, Romania, the UK, Italy and France, binding processes had to be created from a single source. "The most important thing for us was not to compromise our high level of flexibility towards the customer," recaps the IT project manager. "To achieve this, it is necessary to combine preconfigured products and stocked items with individual objects provided by the customer."
In April 2025, in time for the go-live of S/4HANA, the project was successfully completed: "We managed this step into the digital world in just three years," says the IT project manager happily. "Extraordinary commitment and a great many brains contributed to this brilliant achievement. The support of Perspectix was a decisive success factor."
Greater efficiency
After the first six months, 142 users are already working with the software. The reduced workload is already clearly noticeable. Sources of error have been eliminated and the configurations and technical designs no longer have to be laboriously checked. The new software promotes standardization. "We have made significant gains in efficiency and lost none of our flexibility," summarizes Gabriele Marsoun. "Thanks to the faster preparation of quotations and the improved presentation of our solutions, we can operate more successfully on the market."
